On April 6, 2014, one of the founding fathers of CAAU, Bohdan Mykytyn passed away.

At the request of the Consul General of Ukraine in San Francisco, CAAU is forwarding this appeal for funding for the logistical and medical needs of the Ukrainian military forces.

In November 2013, a decision by the government of Ukraine to turn down an association agreement with the European Union sparked demonstrations in Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) in Kyiv that became known as ‘Maidan’ or ‘EuroMaidan’. While the demonstrations began peacefully, the heavy-handed government response resulted in violent clashes.
